KY Oaks ~ it's all about the fillies and Pink!

The road to the KY Oaks is similar to the Derby re prep races except for a few things.

The race is for 3 yr old Fillies only.

The tiered point system is similar to that of the Derby but only 14 fillies will qualify to enter the starting gates.

This next years race will be held the Friday before the Derby, so May 3rd. The length will be 1 1/8 mile on the track.

The race's winner will wear a blanket of beautiful pink Lillies.

The cocktail is the Lilly and the ladies all incorporate pink into their big hats and Spring dresses. NO pants!
