Frustrated with being left out of the horse industry? I hear ya !

Are you frustrated with life passing you by while everyone else is having all of the fun? Yeah, me too.

So, I decided I had to get back in on it ~ but how?

For starters, I grew up in the Show Horse industry.

I showed at the English Society shows with other Saddlebred girls, other English-riding discipline girls, QH girls, and Hunter/ Jumper girls. We were ALL there at the same shows whether at the local County Fair or the State Fair level. The Regionals and Circuit Shows further narrowed us down and around.

We made lifelong friends in this world. I miss them/ it dearly.

Life moves on with blinkers...

While studying all of the EQS courses in college, I became fascinated with the research conducted within the Thoroughbred industry.

From the study of pedigrees, bloodline nicking, broodmares and babies, weanling and yearling sales preps, to the Racetracks ~ I was fascinated with all of it. I think being fascinated might be an understatement here~ I was hooked! I just wanted to immerse myself in it, and learn more about it ~ but how?

Where do I start?

What do I join?

What do I read?

What shows or races do I need to go to?

Do I hang on the rail or in the infield?

What do I need to learn to speak Tbred without sounding like a novice even though I grew up in the show-horse industry?

I didn't know the bloodlines yet, but I could drop names ~ Secretariat (no-brainer), Ruffian, Man O' War, Alydar vs Affirmed, Seattle Slew, Smarty Jones, Curlin, and now Cody's Wish. These historical horses were branded forever into my databank of memories.

Well, this is my journey into this 'other' world of horses.

I am digging, researching, learning, and talking to Farm Owners big and small, Trainers, Owners, Riding/ Equitation Instructors, Editors of magazines/ newspapers, and Bloodstock Agents. Anyone and everyone who can help me enter into this industry and expand my knowledge I will talk to.

There are no stupid questions ~ everyone started somewhere.

However, I am NOT giving up my show horse roots ~ my ears are "up", and I still love to " take a hold and take a deep seat". I am just learning another 'discipline" and broadening the ' Winners Circle.'

And I intend on having a lot of fun doing it!

Would you like to join me?
